Covering an area of approximately 127 acres, Brighton Marina is an artificial marina on the eastern side of Brighton, featuring a working harbour and residential housing – some with their own moorings – alongside a variety of leisure, retail and commercial activities. The main marina construction took place between 1971 and 1979, although significant development has taken place ever since.

The marina, which provides 1600 berths, was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 31 May 1979.
